Mrs. Shannon Holloman is a dedicated educational leader whose passion is helping every scholar discover their potential and achieve academic excellence. Born and raised just outside of Atlanta in Gwinnett County, she has devoted her career to creating schools where children are challenged, supported, and inspired to soar.

Mrs. Holloman earned her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Berry College before receiving a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and School Improvement from the University of West Georgia. Now entering her sixteenth year in education, Mrs. Holloman has served in a variety of instructional and leadership roles, including elementary classroom teacher, Math Instructional Coach, Turnaround Math Specialist, Assistant Principal, and Principal. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to improving student achievement, developing teacher leaders, and building positive school cultures where every child can thrive.

Barack & Michelle Obama Academy holds a special place in Mrs. Holloman's heart. Having previously served the BaMO community from 2017 to 2024, she experienced firsthand the strength, resilience, and spirit of its scholars, families, staff, and community partners. She is honored to return and continue the work of building on the school's strong foundation while leading BaMO into its next chapter of excellence.

Mrs. Holloman believes that every scholar—regardless of their background or circumstances—deserves access to a high-quality education filled with meaningful learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom. She is especially passionate about early childhood and elementary education, knowing these formative years establish the academic, social, and emotional foundation for lifelong success.

As Principal, Mrs. Holloman leads with a servant's heart and a steadfast commitment to excellence. She believes strong schools are built through authentic partnerships with families, dedicated educators, and engaged community members. Her goal is to cultivate a learning environment where every scholar feels valued, every family feels welcomed, and every staff member is empowered to make a lasting impact.

Guided by her personal motto, "No one rises to low expectations," Mrs. Holloman encourages scholars and staff to pursue excellence with confidence, perseverance, and integrity. She is committed to removing barriers, celebrating growth, and ensuring every Eagle can soar towards limitless possibilities.

Outside of school, Mrs. Holloman enjoys spending time with her husband and their two energetic sons. Whether traveling, exploring new restaurants, or enjoying the outdoors, she treasures opportunities to connect with family, friends, and her community.

Mrs. Holloman is honored to serve the Barack & Michelle Obama Academy family and looks forward to partnering with scholars, families, staff, and community stakeholders as together they continue building a legacy of excellence and ensuring every Eagle is equipped to succeed in school, in leadership and in life.
